Korea Trip Part 4

Next day we went to the south side of Jeju. To get there we had to pass Mt Hallasan and we made a quick stop at one of the points near there to drink fresh water from the mountain...

Let him try first before we drink hehe...

Ok all clear boss...kita minum dulu...

After that we drove down south to Seogwipo to see Jeongbang waterfall...the only waterfall in Asia that flows into the ocean. At 23 meters high, it is one of the 12 most beautiful scenic views on Jeju island. Legend has it that Seobul came to Jeju island to seek a herb of eternal youth under the command of Chin's first emperor. Marveling at the scenery of the Jeongbang waterfall, Seobul inscribed 'Seobulgwacha' and returned to the west. The name Seogwipo originates from this. (*taken from the Jeju information book)

The walk down to Jeongbang waterfall

Basically...it is ok ok only ler...but hor...just as we were about to go, i accidentally dropped my camera while trying to take mun lin's picture...maybe this is the balasan of making too many hantu pose in other people's pictures...sigh....then my camera went into coma...and i was scared...Anyway we drove to our next location which is also another waterfall called Cheonjiyeon. This place is much better than Jeongbang IMHO. Cheonjiyeon is like a park, and its quite nice...there was this wishing thingy at the bottom of the stream above the bridge and you can toss a coin and make some wish la...but i think that wishing thingy was for wedding wishes only...but what the heck...i just tossed around 3 coins and wished that my camera will start back...then su yen and yi quan took my camera and wrapped it around their hands...and you know what...hahaha the next thing i know...the camera came back alive!!! wohoo!! after being comatose for 10-15 minutes its alive....hahaha then...hmm i emptied my pocket filled with some coins...and just threw it all into the stream below hahahah...kamsa hamida* wishing thingy. (*means thank you in korean)

The Wishing Thingy

I was then back in action taking pictures..just in time to take the picture of Cheonjiyeon waterfall

Guy time!!!

Caught this beauty beside the stream...had to climb down to get a good shot...worth it...

Then we left the place and went to grab some lunch...we wanted to eat fast food cos...its cheaper than eating korean food...so at first we wanted to go to Mcd but i dun think there was any Mcd near the area we were in so we settled for....

Lotteria!!! I kinda like this place...

Their menu, didn't get the other side of the menu...Click to see a bigger pic of the menu. The first time we had Lotteria was at the airport before flying to Jeju on Day 2. I kinda like Lotteria because this is the first place that i had my first burger babi...and it tasted good..oh yes it does...burger babi with yummy sauce...it tastes good just like babi...yummmmm.....drolll

Hup Lim had this one..

and I had this one hehe..

We had lunch and walked around the area because there were many shops there...and at around 3pm our transporter arrived and we were off to our next location...oh it was raining throughout the day...After about 15-20 minutes drive we finally reached Oedolgae...They filmed some scenes of Jewel in the Palace here...
Oedolgae

Ah...this is the proof

You can actually explore deeper into the area around this big rock...but the girls suddenly all hilang...so hup lim and i had time for ourselves and we went exploring up till the edge of the cliff hahaha...

The view from above

If i take 2 steps back...i'll fall all the way down..

We guys nothing to do...just pose la...no girls also...
Flower time :

This could be some kind of Jeju lalang, but what the heck it looks good. Click to see a bigger pic

See the leaves...got thorns wan... I think this is a thistle ^^

Then we lepaked a bit too long and su yen had to come find us... :D so then we went to our next point of interest. On the way we passed the world cup stadium where some of World Cup 2002 matches were held here.

We were going to Yakcheonsa temple. Yakcheon Temple means Temple where medicinal water flows. The temple has the largest Buddhist statue in Asia . It is renowned for mystical stories about the medicinal water. The medicinal water source that continually furnishes water to the pond still remains. Many Buddhist stop in to drink this water

Flowers around the temple:

Then we went further south west around Mt Songaksan. They also shot some scenes of Jewel in the Palace here...

There's a Jewel in the Palace board in the middle of the pic

It was very windy along the coastal area

Next we went back up all the way north to Dokkaebi Road aka Mysterious Road...why is it mysterious? click the picture to see what it says...

This is how the road looks like...notice that it is ascending...

Prove

So after that we all went back to Hanwha, the next day we had to catch the 1pm plane back to Seoul...Its quite sad because looking back at the Jeju booklet...there are so many more places we could have visited...but we had only 3 days to go around Jeju...I highly recommend anybody who plans to visit Korea to head on down to Jeju island...seriously you won't regret it.
